Megan Blackwell, LPCMH
Megan Blackwell is a native Delawarean born and raised by the sea. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware she pursued her Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University. Immediately following her masters degree, Megan became a Nationally Certified Counselor through NBCC and pursued her licensure as a Professional Counselor, as well as the specialty license of Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
Megan is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health who provides client-centered therapy to children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Megan has experience treating a range of issues including trauma, addiction, anxiety, relational issues, mood experiences, and more.
During Megan’s career as a counselor, she has dedicated herself to ongoing learning and has specialty training in a wide-range of therapeutic interventions including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness. Megan believes in utilizing strenghts-based approaches to increase the resilience of those with whom she works.
Megan most recently worked in Family Court to prevent contact with the Justice System for individuals who experience mental health difficulties by working with them to achieve and maintain stability in all facets of life. She has also worked as an Outpatient Therapist and a Dual Diagnosis Drug and Alcohol Counselor at an inpatient residential facility. Megan is passionate about providing the most effective and compassionate counseling possible for the individuals that she services and considers it a great joy and an honor to listen to people’s stories and be a part of their journey.
